Gabby has been an instructor for nearly 10 years. She got her start holding small SAT and ACT study groups during high school, and this love for teaching continued into college, where she worked and did research as a writing tutor from her freshman year forward. She worked as a peer and embedded tutor, helping students in freshman writing seminars hone their writing skills and helping drop-in students with papers ranging from scientific journal articles to medical school personal statements, and from philosophical theses to dissertations analyzing William Blake’s poetry. In addition to her peer tutoring, she also instructed high schoolers at underserved schools in her college town in test preparation.
After graduating, Gabby knew that she wanted to continue teaching. Gabby takes pride in tailoring her teaching to her students’ needs, taking the time to understand how they learn and designing custom lesson plans to help them achieve their goals. Working as a collaborator, a mentor, and an educator, Gabby aims to increase her students’ confidence with not just the material, but also their confidence in themselves. Whether she is helping students achieve ambitious test prep goals or assisting them in understanding in-class material, Gabby aims to empower students to achieve their full potential, helping them grow as thinkers and people.
