After earning her post-graduate Certificate with Distinction in College Counseling, Miriam spent 5 years as the Assistant College Counselor at North Hollywood High School, serving nearly 4,000 students, as well as the Highly Gifted Magnet and School for Advanced Studies.
Miriam has successfully partnered with numerous scholarship winners, including 3 Wells Scholars and several UC Regents Scholars. Additionally, she has served on the Warren Christopher Scholarship Committee. Many of her students have continued to garner great success in the fields of music, medicine, aerospace engineering, aviation engineering, public policy, environmental science, sports management, game design, and more. She has over 35 years of experience as a successful recording musician for films and television, and she has both a talent and affinity for working with emerging artists.
Now in her twelfth year of college counseling, Miriam has honed her style of relating to students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles, many of whom stay in touch over the years that follow to share their achievements with excitement. She is purpose-driven to help students and their families achieve their goals, discover new ones, and proceed with a minimum of stress.
- She recorded for Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones for the “Bad” tour.
- Miriam was a member of the Warren Christopher Scholarship Committee, a reader for the Beyond Scholars award, and an adjudicator for the Young Musicians Foundation Scholarship for over 10 years.
- She invented and patented a Type 1 Medical Device in 2015.
- She and her husband raised her children on the Island of Kaua'i.
- Miriam was admitted to Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music at the age of 15 as a protege of Sir James Galway and was the first student ever permitted to earn a Bachelor of Performance Degree in Flute with a specialization in Jazz Studies.
